Our Society of Daughters of Mary Immaculate (DMI) began in a humble way to live the Charism “Loving God in Serving the Poor to be fully human and fully alive”. With the call of God the Father, a group of young volunteers under the benevolent guidance of Founder, Fr. J.E. Arul Raj and began to live an apostolic life in a small village called Pandaravedu in Tiruttani District of Tamil Nadu, India. The Society was started by the sudden inspiration of God in the year 1984 with absolutely nothing in hand. Trusting in the providence of God and literally living under a mango tree and a small hut, the founding members began their life and started to be involved in socio – pastoral mission among the poor villagers. Worthy of mention is the life and contribution of the Co-Foundress(Late) Mother Virgin DMI.
